There is a sharp rise in tags and plates being stolen across the State of California. For whatever reason, whether the plate was stolen or simply fell off or misplaced, we make it easy to replace your items in a timely manner. We have plates and tags in our office locations and can instantly issue new plates and tags. We provide two types of shipping, priority mail and priority express mail, getting you on the road legal sooner than visiting a DMV office.
According to the California DMV, the process to replace your items are as follows:
Submit your completed application.
Pay the DMV fee
Show a valid California driver license or identification (DL/ID) card. If your DL/ID card is from another state or country, you must also show one of the following:
Military ID card.
ID card issued by a state or U.S. government agency.
Student ID card issued by a college or university.
ID card issued by a California-based employer.
If your current address is different from the address in DMV records, you must show:
Proof of vehicle ownership (for example, a copy of your title or your registration card).
A police report, if your license plates were stolen.
A Verification of Vehicle (REG 31) form completed by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), if replacement license plates were issued within the last 90 days.
Surrender the remaining license plate(s).
We will assist you with the application and you'll be able to upload an image of your ID/DL when ordering your replacements with us.
Don't wait at any office
Waits at your local California DMV office can be hours and DMV appointments are scheduled weeks to months in advance, which can be risky given the fact that someone may be driving with your stolen or lost license plates and tags.
Upon receiving your request and payment, our staff quickly handles and processes your item replacement with our DMV system in our office providing our customers same day processing (during our business hours). We can also email you a moving permit, if required to give you the peace of mind of driving legally until the plates arrive. We issue tags and plates from our office locations and ship them to you as soon as possible. We offer two types of shipping speeds, USPS Priority and USPS Priority Express.
It is common to lose your title, we make it easy to request a replacement with the California DMV. All titles are printed by the California DMV headquarters in Sacramento, California, and therefore there is no ability to express ship a replacement title. Titles can take up to 30 - 60 days to receive. We provide faster handling of your request getting ahead of the thousands of daily title requests the California DMV receives. We have found that most of our customers have received titles as quick as 10 days from the date of request. All titles are sent to the registered owner's address on file with the California DMV or to the Lienholder/Legal Owner on file with the California DMV. If this address needs to be updated, please contact us prior to your order.
